Striving for the sake of Allah
It is impossible for Muslims who do not think like Muslims to live like Muslims.
Ebu Masum Mücahit
There is no community in the world today whose territories are being occupied like that of the Muslims. We Muslims are often found lamenting and wailing about the invasion of our homelands by “predators”. We complain, and we moan, that one would be forced to ask, “until when are we going to continue like this?” Didn’t our Lord ask us to strive? Didn’t He tell us to strive in His cause until there is no fitnah on earth? Yes, He did but we choose not to adhere.
Allah, the Exalted, sent us to the earth as viceroys so as to establish justice on earth. However, we have forgotten this divine assignment. we drifted from Allah's commandment and embraced the deceitful world. This took our dignity and honour. Our predecessors feared nothing but Allah. they stood for justice and fought against oppressors not paying attention to their few number. Today we are afraid of everything but Allah. we achieved nothing but large number.
We see that all those who cry, groan, shed tears, bleed, be persecuted, occupied, starved, used as pawns and exiled from their homeland are all Muslims, although we have a large number of imams. Why did we, the Muslims, who are the viceroys on earth and who should make justice and fair order prevail on earth, fall into this situation? We need to look into the root cause of this situation.
We have forgotten working for the sake of Allah and care less about being the ummah of the Prophet!
Undoubtedly, the bodies of those whose minds are occupied are much easier to be occupied. As Muslims, we repeatedly say the Shahada, a statement that should be a declaration of freedom. It frees one from being enslaved to other than Allah, from deities, materials, desires and even our own loved ones. Allah says: Say, [O Muhammad], "If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your wives, your relatives, wealth which you have obtained, commerce wherein you fear decline, and dwellings with which you are pleased are more beloved to you than Allah and His Messenger and jihad [i.e., striving] in His cause, then wait until Allah executes His command. And Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.” (At-Tawba Verse 24) We should not be people who forget to work in the way of Allah, to remove the evils on earth, and to make justice dominate the earth; lest we be like the children of Israel who left the matters to Musa and his Lord.
It is impossible for Muslims who do not think like Muslims to live like Muslims. We cannot be aware of all kinds of slaveries we are into today and not ready to liberate ourselves through sacrifice. In the 24th verse of the Surah at-Tawbah; The fact that believers worry about Allah and His Messenger before everything in the world, work to win the love of Allah and His Messenger, and when they do not work in this way, Allah will not bring them to peace in the world. When we read many stories in the Qur'an and compare it with today, we see that the previous peoples lived and that they perished.
Today, we are concocting all kinds of excuses for not striving in Allah’s cause; we try to twist wrong acts to make them look right; we consume and perform the haram trying to explain it with our logic, why won’t our problems increase? We have forgotten our duty!
The non-Muslims make many sacrifices and work day and night for the sake of their false causes; today very few sets of people in the Islamic world strive for and sacrifice for Allah. Majority of us tend to be attracted to worldly gains and luxuries than the unbelievers we condemn.
To get out of the current situation:
We must discard the tales of the heart and the love of the world. We must face our situation and change it. Allah says: “Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.”
In Uluhiyah, we must accept Allah has the only one worthy of worship.
In Rububiyyah, we must accept Allah as the only Lord.
We must not forget that we are servants of Allah and not anyone else’s.
We must live according to the commandments of Allah and His Prophet commanded, and our aim should be Jannah and nothing else.
Let's not forget that we will be taken into account for what we do and what we fail to do.
We need to unite the ummah upon Tawheed and speak in one voice!
